Shai Linne’s Letter to CHH

As my favorite artist in CHH, Shai Linne has never been one to shy away from fighting for the unity of the church and the truthfulness of the scriptures. He recently faced some backlash due to some “controversial” lyrics on his latest album, “Still Jesus.”

Rapzilla recently posted a letter that he composed to CHH as a whole in response. He hits some very important points that are key for us as CHH fans and Christians overall to remember such as:

“Even as I stated my disagreement about their positions, I did not attack their character. I affirmed my love for them as brothers in Christ. There must be a place for this in the body of Christ. Texts like Galatians 2 indicate that there is.”

“This is not about me vs. Lecrae, though some have painted it that way. It’s not my aim to pit believers against one another as though Lecrae/Reach is the enemy. I don’t believe that at all. The Bible is clear about who the enemy is:

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)”

“Why is there a such thing as CHH? What do we exist for? Biblically, the answer is the same as the purpose for which all things exist — the glory of God.”

  1. Question: if Shai says it ain’t about Crae and it’s more about our enemy the devil, isn’t that basically saying that Crae is presently being used as a tool of the enemy?

I don’t know what to think about that. It’s like he wants to point out what he thinks are evil actions in the church without saying that the church performs evil actions because criticizing the church is bad form.

    Talk about confusing.
